The research and writing skills that historians develop in academia are necessary to produce innovative public-facing scholarship. During my graduate studies, I have utilized as many opportunities as I could to apply the methods of historical scholarship to museum exhibitions, collections management, public programming, and public-facing writing.

My most recent op-ed in the Washington Post's Made by History column: https://www.washingtonpost.com/outlook/2022/05/18/solution-formula-shortage-isnt-calling-more-breastfeeding/

In December 2021, I published an article with Lady Science magazine: https://www.ladyscience.com/features/augmenting-the-maternal-breast-2021

I collaborated with the staff at Delaware Historical Society to work on research, label copy, and exhibit installation for "Collecting Wilmington: Place, Perspective, and Memory," on view now through 2022: https://dehistory.org/collections/exhibitions/collecting-wilmington-perspective-place-memory/
These cases hold both published and manuscript pieces from the Paul Preston Davis Collection of Delawareana. Alt text: There are two side-by-side exhibit cases. Both have yellow backgrounds with text. Books are displayed in both cases.
This is the rear view of a book cradle that I made for the nineteenth-century ledger on display in the case depicted to the left. Alt text: Vertical view of the spine of an open book being supported by a book cradle.
This is the front view of the ledger pictured in the center. Alt text: A ledger is held open and upright in a book cradle. There are handwritten notes in the debit and credit columns on both visible pages.
